Location: University of Oxford, Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery & Department of Chemistry

Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of protein science? We are seeking a talented and driven postdoctoral researcher to join a BBSRC-funded project in Single Molecule Proteomics.

About the Project

This collaborative effort aims to revolutionize how we identify proteins and their modifications—especially phosphorylation, which plays a critical role in regulating protein function but remains elusive with current technologies. We’re developing a novel platform to uncover the hidden dynamics of proteins in health and disease.

Your Role

As a postdoc on this project, will contribute to the design, fabrication, and application of microfluidic and nanofluidic devices for single-cell, single-molecule proteomics under the supervision of Professor Dirk Aarts. The project involves developing novel platforms for protein detection, manipulation, and analysis, integrating microfluidics with nanopore sensing, mass photometry, and related analytical technologies. You will work closely with researchers across chemistry, physics, biology, and engineering, supervise junior group members, and contribute to the development of a dynamic and collaborative research programme.

We’re Looking for Someone With:

Demonstrated experience in the design, fabrication, and characterisation of microfluidic and or nanofluidic devices
Experience with microfabrication techniques such photolithography, soft lithography, micro moulding, cleanroom process, or related methods
Experience in the development and implementation of experimental methods for biological, biophysical, or analytical applications.
Ability to analyse and interpret complex experimental datasets using computational and statistical tools.
