About the Role
As Deputy Manager of a Residential Care Home able to offer care to suffers of substance misuse, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to:
- Support the day-to-day running of the service
- Lead and supervise care and support staff
- Ensure high standards of care, safety, and compliance
- Promote a structured, recovery-focused environment
- Support residents with dignity, respect, and clear boundaries
- Assist with rota management, staffing, and absence cover
- Contribute to audits, quality improvement, and inspections
- Step up to manage the service in the Manager’s absence
- Meds trained is essential
This role requires a calm, resilient leader who can balance empathy with accountability.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience managing or supervising within a CQC-regulated care service
- Understands safeguarding, risk management, and care planning
- Has experience working with vulnerable adults (substance misuse experience desirable but not essential)
- Is confident leading teams and addressing performance issues
- Demonstrates strong organisational and communication skills
- Holds (or is willing to work towards) Level 3 or Level 5 in Health & Social Care
You do not need to be a nurse or clinician — strong operational and people management experience is key.
