The Opportunity
Due to continued growth across the business and an exciting project to upgrade our SAP Payroll system, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a fixed-term contract. This role has been created to provide additional capacity and support to the payroll team as they manage increasing employee numbers while delivering a significant payroll system enhancement project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering an accurate and efficient payroll service This is an exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally with stakeholders across engineering, production, and quality, influencing procurement strategy and contributing to business performance.
As Payroll Officer, you will provide vital support to our payroll team during a period of business growth and system enhancement. You will play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while assisting with payroll administration and employee queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Set up employees and agency workers on payroll systems.
- Process agency timesheets and payroll-related data.
- Assist with time evaluation activities and resolve clocking issues.
- Maintain employee work schedules and shift patterns.
- Support manual payroll calculations where required.
- Manage payroll inbox queries and provide timely responses.
- Assist with employee expenses processing.
- Input and maintain sickness-related payroll data
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Experience
- Previous payroll processing experience.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience handling payroll-related queries.
- Understanding of payroll legislation and employment taxes.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
Desirable
- Experience using SAP Payroll.
- Experience processing expenses, ideally using Concur.
- Knowledge of VAT requirements relating to expenses.
- Advanced Excel skills.

This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 39 hours per week.
