Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paramedic to join our emergency medical services team. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing advanced pre-hospital care to patients in urgent and emergency situations at a wide range of events. This role requires a compassionate approach, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. The Paramedic will play a vital role in delivering prompt, professional medical assistance while ensuring patient safety and comfort in a wide range of locations/environment's.

Responsibilities

Respond swiftly to emergency calls and assess patient conditions on-site or en route to healthcare facilities
Provide advanced life support, including airway management, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration
Perform physical examinations and gather comprehensive patient histories to inform treatment decisions
Administer injections, medications, and perform necessary procedures following established protocols
Utilise physiology and anatomy knowledge to evaluate patient needs accurately
Maintain aseptic technique during all procedures to prevent infection
Operate emergency vehicles safely, adhering to traffic laws and driving regulations
Conduct triage assessments to prioritise patient care based on severity of condition
Assist with heavy lifting and manoeuvring of patients using appropriate techniques and equipment
Document all patient interactions thoroughly and accurately in accordance with legal requirements and organisational policies

Requirements

Valid registration as a Paramedic with relevant regulatory bodies
Proven experience in patient care within pre-hospital or hospital environments, including critical care experience preferred
Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) techniques
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques
Experience administering injections, medications, and conducting physical examinations
Ability to perform triage effectively in high-pressure situations
Valid driving licence with a clean record; experience driving emergency vehicles is advantageous
Physical fitness to undertake heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or moving patients
Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under stress
