Role:

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Wellbeing Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary clinical team. You’ll work alongside Clinical Leads, Therapists, Recovery Workers, and external partners to deliver high-quality, psychologically informed support that promotes recovery, wellbeing, and long-term positive outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in mental health or wellbeing practice—such as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner PWP —who is looking to develop their skills within a specialist addiction recovery service (Gambling background desired but not essential providing you have some understanding of addictions).

What you’ll be doing

Clinical practice

Deliver structured, low-intensity and psychologically informed interventions for individuals experiencing gambling-related harm
Support assessments, helping to identify emotional, psychological, and social needs
Contribute to the formulation and development of recovery-focused care plans with clear, achievable goals
Encourage engagement with treatment, peer support, and wider recovery activities
Support access to appropriate community services and external support networks

Risk and safeguarding

Identify, assess, and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies
Undertake risk assessments and escalate concerns appropriately
Maintain professional boundaries and safe, ethical working practices

Partnership working

Build strong relationships with internal colleagues and external agencies
Liaise with healthcare professionals, referrers, and community organisations
Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and reviews

Clinical governance and development

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records
Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development
Contribute to service improvement, audit, and evaluation activity
Work in line with organisational policies, procedures, and professional standards

Essential qualifications and experience

Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity CBT, or equivalent qualification in Mental Health, Counselling, Psychology or Wellbeing Practice
Experience supporting individuals with mental health, ideally addiction, or complex emotional wellbeing needs
Experience delivering structured, psychologically informed interventions
Experience managing and prioritising a caseload effectively
Experience working within health, social care, charity, or community settings
Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

Essential skills and knowledge

Understanding of addiction recovery principles
Knowledge of low-intensity CBT or similar approaches
Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and professional boundaries
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build trusting, compassionate relationships with service users
Resilience and professionalism in emotionally challenging situations
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
Ability to work independently and use initiative appropriately

Desirable

Experience with gambling addiction
Knowledge of motivational interviewing, CBT-informed approaches, or trauma-informed practice
Experience delivering group or psychoeducational sessions
