Due to continued growth of our award-winning flooring company, we are looking for an additional skilled Floor Layer to join our expanding team on either an employed or self-employed basis. With the opening of our premium showroom, this role will include an increased focus on high-end domestic installations, alongside our established commercial work.
Job Description
We are a well-established commercial and domestic flooring contractor with a premium showroom. The role will involve a wide variety of installations, with particular emphasis on bespoke residential projects, luxury finishes, and showroom-led work.
Duties will include:
- Subfloor preparation
- Installation of LVT (glue-down and click systems)
- Carpets and carpet tiles
- Wood flooring
- Natural floor coverings (e.g. wool carpets, sisal, seagrass, coir and other natural fibres)
Projects are carried out throughout the South West and include:
- High-end domestic properties
- Showroom-specified residential projects
- Pubs, restaurants and hospitality venues
- Offices and public buildings
Skills Required (Essential)
- Experienced floor layer
- High-quality domestic carpet fitting
- Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT) – glue-down and click
- Wood flooring installation
- Herringbone LVT and feature flooring
- Experience installing natural floor coverings
- Laminate flooring
- Subfloor preparation, including:
- Light grinding and laitance removal
- Removal of existing floor coverings
- Floor screeding
- Over-ply systems
- Damp proof membrane (DPM) systems
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- CSCS card (training available for the right candidate)
- Cap and cove (preferred)
- Commercial flooring experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Flooring
- Safety flooring
- Dust-free wood sanding and sealing
- Moisture testing
- Altro Whiterock hygienic wall cladding

Additional Information
Based in Heathfield, Newton Abbot. Some travel across the South West will be required.
