We have a permanent, full-time vacancy for a Business Support Assistant in New County Hall, Truro. Office base can be considered dependent on the successful applicant's residence.
The successful candidate will work in a small team whose focus is to support the work of our front line practitioners which enables them to achieve the best outcomes and prioritise direct work with children and families. We ensure timely communications with service users and partner agencies.
The Role:
This position will be subject to a standard/enhanced criminal record disclosure check.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team, supporting children and families within the Fostering and Adoption arena. Duties will involve a range of tasks including the monitoring of admin mailboxes, answering telephone enquiries, distribution of documents, records management, meeting administration including occasional minuting, financial transactions and use of our database.
Working Pattern:
The role is full-time, 37 hours per week.
Monday – Thursday 08.45 – 17.15
Friday 08.45 – 16.45
The role involves attendance at an office base via a rota/on request and other days working remotely from home/other location. We work flexibly to most effectively support the people, services and organisations that we support and will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
What you’ll need to succeed:
Applicants should have 4 GCSEs at grades 9–4/(A-C), or equivalent, including English and Maths and have excellent keyboard skills. Experience of working in an office environment would be an advantage.
You will have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise appropriately with all levels of staff, service users and other agencies. A professional approach, applying discretion and diplomacy is essential. We also require flexibility and the ability to enjoy the challenge of working within a busy team environment, producing good quality, accurate outputs while working to deadlines.
