Summary
A Post office clerk required for a busy Post Office based in Wales's most successful independent supermarket. As a Post Office Clerk you will provide customer service by assisting customers with mailing services, processing transactions, and handling postal products. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with mailing letters, packages, and parcels
- Sell postage, stamps, money orders, and postal supplies
- Weigh, label, and process mail according to postal regulations
- Explain shipping options, rates, and delivery times
- Accept and process payments (cash, card, or electronic)
- Track and retrieve mail using computer systems
- Handle registered, insured, and certified mail
- Maintain accurate records and balance cash drawers
- Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
- Ensure compliance with postal policies and security procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized service counter and workspace
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle cash and financial transactions
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift packages (often up to 50 lbs / 23 kg)
- Trustworthiness and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience
- Experience handling cash or point-of-sale systems
- Familiarity with postal or shipping services
Work Environment
- Indoor postal facility or retail post office
- Fast-paced, customer-facing role
- May require weekends or holiday shift
This role is either Full or Part Time.
Full time we would also need you to cover on the shop floor.
Part time will just be the Post office.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
