About Us
At Saffron, we're passionate about great food, exceptional service and building a reputation people remember. Our Food Truck division has grown rapidly and now operates a fleet of 20 vehicles across the Midlands from 2 hubs currently, serving thousands of customers every week. But we're only just getting started. Our vision is ambitious - to grow our fleet to over 50 Food Trucks and aiming to double the turnover. To achieve that, we're looking for an exceptional leader to join our senior management team. This isn't a role for someone who simply maintains standards. We're looking for someone who wants to build something with us.
The Opportunity
As Food Trucks Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the operational performance, profitability and growth of our Food Truck division. You'll lead our teams, drive operational excellence, identify new commercial opportunities and continually improve our systems and processes. You'll work closely with the Directors to shape the future of this division and play a key role in achieving our ambitious growth plans. This is a hands-on management position where no two days are the same.
Your Responsibilities
Leadership
Lead, motivate and develop the Food Truck team
Create a positive, accountable and high-performing culture
Conduct recruitment, inductions, training, coaching and performance reviews
Manage HR matters alongside the senior management team
Commercial Growth
Identify new trading opportunities and potential routes
Analyse route performance and profitability
Develop strategies to increase turnover and customer spend
Drive continuous business growth through innovation and commercial thinking
Support future expansion into new geographical locations
Operations
Oversee the daily operation of the Food Truck fleet
Ensure all routes are fully operational every day
Maintain excellent service standards across every vehicle
Review performance data and implement improvements
Ensure effective staffing and resource planning
Manage van maintenance, services MOT's etc
Customer Experience
Build strong relationships with existing customers
Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally
Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction
Work alongside the sales team to support new business opportunities
Food Safety & Compliance
Ensure all Food Trucks operate to the highest food hygiene standards
Oversee Health & Safety compliance
Monitor vehicle audits and compliance documentation
Ensure legal requirements are consistently met
Stock & Production
Manage stock control systems
Minimise waste
Improve forecasting accuracy
Work alongside the production kitchen to ensure efficient daily/nightly operations
Continuous Improvement
Review and improve existing procedures
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Introduce efficiencies through technology and better working practices
Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the division
About You
We're looking for someone who is ambitious, commercially minded and enjoys leading from the front.
You'll must have experience in:
Multi-site catering or hospitality management
Retail food operations
Food-to-go operations
Fleet or route-based businesses
Fast-paced operational management
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys building successful teams and growing businesses.
You'll have:
Strong leadership skills
Excellent organisational ability
Commercial awareness
Confidence making decisions
Experience managing people
A passion for delivering outstanding customer service
Excellent communication skills
A full UK manual driving licence

Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
