The Role
We are looking for a confident and motivated Dental Therapist who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and building lasting relationships with patients. You will work closely alongside our dentists and wider clinical team, providing preventative, periodontal and restorative treatments within your scope of practice.
The number of working days is flexible and can be discussed to suit the successful candidate; however, availability to work on Thursdays is a requirement.
Responsibilities
- Provide examinations within your scope of practice.
- Deliver direct access appointments where appropriate.
- Carry out periodontal assessments and treatment.
- Provide oral hygiene instruction and preventative care.
- Place restorations in both adult and paediatric patients within your scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment options and oral health.
- Work collaboratively with dentists, nurses and the reception team.
- Maintain high standards of cross-infection control and clinical governance.
- Comply with GDC Standards, HTM guidance and all practice policies.
Essential Requirements
- GDC registered Dental Therapist.
- A minimum of 1 years' experience working as a Dental Therapist within the UK.
- Strong understanding of UK clinical guidelines and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High standard of clinical record keeping.
- Professional, reliable and patient-focused.
- Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
- Must be available to work on Thursdays.
Desirable
- Experience working within a busy private or mixed dental practice.
- Knowledge of digital dentistry and modern practice management software.
- Experience working under direct access.
