Join Our Team

We are looking for reliable, caring, and hardworking Housekeepers to join our friendly team in our residential care home. You'll play a vital role in ensuring our residents enjoy a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment every day.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Duties

Clean residents' bedrooms and en-suite facilities to a high standard.
Clean dining rooms, lounges, corridors, stairways, bathrooms, and communal areas.
Vacuum, mop, and spot-clean flooring throughout the home.
Empty waste bins and dispose of waste safely.
Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, taps, bathroom fixtures, and bedroom furniture.
Clean bed bases and mattresses in line with infection control procedures.

Weekly Duties

Polish mirrors and clean windows and windowsills.
Dust handrails, radiators, skirting boards, lampshades, vents, and light fittings.
Move furniture where appropriate to clean underneath and behind.
Sanitize and disinfect commodes.
Shampoo carpets as directed by the Head Housekeeper.

Additional Responsibilities

Restock toiletries, towels, soaps, and other supplies as required.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and mandatory induction programmes.
Follow all Health & Safety, infection control, fire safety, and COSHH procedures.
Report any maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or incidents promptly.
Maintain all cleaning equipment in good working order.
Welcome visitors courteously and ensure they follow the home's sign-in procedures.
Maintain residents' dignity, privacy, independence, and confidentiality at all times.

About You

Essential

A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
2x Satisfactory employment references.

Desirable

Previous housekeeping experience, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or hospitality environment.
Dementia awareness.
Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
