Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MOT Tester/Technician to join our dynamic automotive service team. Responsibilities
- Perform accurate MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components including brakes, suspension, lights, tires, exhaust systems, and emissions.
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out repairs or adjustments identified during inspections.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately, ensuring all records meet regulatory requirements.
- Assist with minor repairs or maintenance tasks as needed to support overall vehicle safety checks.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or positioning vehicles or equipment within the workshop.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
Experience
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or automotive technician with a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment essential for vehicle inspections.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including brakes, steering, suspension, and emissions controls.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in record keeping and reporting.
- Relevant certifications or licenses for MOT testing are preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided for the right candidate.
