Gateshead College are seeking to recruit a Casual Virtual Production Tutor to deliver innovative and industry-focused learning within our evening course provision.
You will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating engaging Virtual Production sessions, supporting learners to develop skills in Unreal Engine 5, interactive media production, virtual environment design and virtual production workflows. The role will involve preparing learners for professional studio practice, supporting collaborative projects with writers, actors and production teams, and guiding students through the development of building a scene for a final filmed scene.
The successful candidate will have experience working within Virtual Production, Games Design, Digital Media, Film, Television or a related creative technology field.
This role would particularly suit a Virtual Production Artist, Unreal Engine Developer, Technical Artist, Games Designer, Digital Media Producer or Film and Television Practitioner with experience of real-time production technologies and a passion for developing the next generation of creative talent.
What we're looking for:

Teach learners the fundamentals of Virtual Production and interactive media workflows
- Support students in the use of Unreal Engine 5 and related production technologies
- Guide learners in researching and analysing Virtual Production, film, television, games and interactive media products
- Support the development of virtual environments from concept through to final production
- Teach environment design, scene building, lighting, camera planning and storyboarding techniques
Skills & Experience

Experience working in Virtual Production, Unreal Engine, Games Design, Film, TV Production, Interactive Media or a related creative sector
- Strong working knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 and real-time content creation workflows
- Understanding of virtual environment design, asset integration, lighting and camera systems
- Experience of pre-production planning including storyboarding, shot planning and production documentation
- Knowledge of Virtual Production pipelines and studio workflows
Qualifications

Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Virtual Production, Games Design, Digital Media, Film Production, Creative Technology or a related subject (desirable)
- Industry-recognised Unreal Engine certification or equivalent professional experience (desirable)
