To support this ambition, we’re looking for a Marketing Project Administrator to provide administrative support, planning and coordinating Marketing-led activity related to the Leading Edge Curriculum Project.
The Role
Are you a highly organised marketing professional who thrives on supporting complex projects and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of education at Newcastle University?
As part of a project team working to deliver marketing-led activity, you’ll play an important role in ensuring we hit key milestones. You’ll supporting day-to-day operations across a wide variety of tasks including project timelines, resource allocation, project status updates and working closely with team members leading on the wider curriculum transformation project.
You’ll join Newcastle University’s Marketing Team within the Marketing, Global Recruitment and Admissions Directorate, a comprehensive, world-class marketing team dedicated to serving our partners, academics and students.

Key Accountabilities
As part of the Marketing Team, you will:
Provide effective administrative support to the Marketing Project Manager and Marketing Workstream including but not limited to: organising meetings; preparation/circulation of documentation; recording and disseminating minutes/actions and following up to ensure timely action completion; setting up content collection templates to support the Digital Content Editor and Copywriters working on course content
Work closely with the Marketing Project Manager to develop and implement tracking processes that monitor project progress across each phase of work
Support the Marketing Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and delivery of Marketing-led activity related to the Leading Edge Curriculum Project
Work as an ‘expert user’ of relevant IT systems (SharePoint, Teams, project management software), generating management information proactively and on request
Any other reasonable duties that fall within the scope of the post, as required to support the Marketing Project Manager and Marketing Workstream Leads
The Person
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Demonstrable work experience in a relevant role, and in a comparable setting
Good working knowledge of office management systems and procedures
Proven ability to establish, review and monitor administrative systems
Ability to handle large volumes of work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of staff at all levels
Strong planning and organising skills
Ability to work on own initiative, solving routine problems with limited supervision
Experience of working effectively both independently and within a team, and the ability to initiate, develop and maintain productive relationships
Flexible and responsive approach to dealing with demands of work and stakeholders
Experience of planning and progressing work within general guidelines, using initiative and judgement
Advanced IT skills, including the core Microsoft Office packages, in particular Outlook, Word and Excel, and online communication tools, for example Teams
Attributes and Behaviour
Tailors content to the audience, changing style, tone and format appropriately
Understands how best to appeal to the other person/group, correctly interpreting the right way to approach a situation
Identifies quickly what is important and prioritises accordingly
Plans workload and tasks in a systematic way
Uses systems and tools to ensure records and audit trails are clear and up to date
Qualifications
Grades A-C in English Language and Mathematics GCSE (or equivalent) or vocational qualifications, plus work experience in a relevant role; or Substantial relevant work experience in the unit or a comparable setting
Hold a recognised qualification (NVQ level 2, GCSE Grades A-C/O-levels, City and Guilds, RSA II)
