We are a group of pharmacists and nurses who have spent the last 20 years building an excellent reputation for delivering face-to-face training that is practical, engaging, and focused on competence. Our training uses modern research-based teaching techniques and has been shown to reduce medication errors by 36%.
We are expanding our regional associate team across Sussex and Hampshire and seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver clinical skills training—primarily Epilepsy Awareness and the Safe Administration of Buccal Midazolam. In line with new guidelines from ESNA (2026), you must have 3 or more years’ experience caring for people with epilepsy.
About the Role
You’ll be teaching small groups (up to 12 delegates) of care workers, support staff, nurses, school teams, and transport staff—giving them the practical skills they need to safely manage seizures.

We all learn better by doing. Our courses teach the practical skills needed to safely manage and treat seizures. Rather than lecturing from slides, you’ll guide delegates through hands-on simulations. They’ll learn the steps needed to treat a seizure and end by demonstrating their learning back to you against a Competence Checklist co-developed with a consultant neurologist, 3 NHS epilepsy specialist nurses, and a local authority steering group of educational experts—a tool trusted by over 300 schools and local authorities nationwide.
The course aligns with the latest 2026 guidelines from ESNA, and for this reason, we need you to have at least 3 years' experience caring for people with epilepsy.
Holding an AET Level 3 (Award in Education and Training) or equivalent qualification (e.g., ENB 998 / PGCert) is a bonus, but if you don't have one yet, we can support you as you work towards it.
We also teach Epilepsy Awareness and other forms of rescue treatments such as rectal diazepam, vagus nerve stimulation, and even rectal paraldehyde.
We offer full training to deliver our structured 4-hour course with 2–3 days alongside our Lead Pharmacist and Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist in our office in Shoreham. You can then shadow the course until you feel confident.
Location and timings
Workshops that teach administration of rescue medicines run 9.30am until 1pm (although start times can vary). If also teaching epilepsy awareness beforehand, courses run to 5 or 6 hours.
Most of our courses are in Sussex, Surrey, and Hampshire. Ideally, you would also be able to travel further afield when demand arises.

Essential Requirements
To meet ESNA Level 2 Trainer Competence standards, you will need:
- Active NMC Registration: Current registration as an RGN, RNLD, RSCN, or RN (we will ask for your NMC PIN to perform a quick online check).
- Epilepsy Experience: 3+ years of clinical experience caring for people with epilepsy.
- People Skills: A warm, approachable manner and confidence presenting hands-on practical simulations to small groups.
- Self-Employed Status: Registered as self-employed with your own professional indemnity insurance.
- Transport: Valid UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travelling to venues across Sussex and Hampshire.
Desirable (but not essential):
- An AET Level 3 (Award in Education and Training) or equivalent qualification (e.g., ENB 998 / PGCert). If you don't have one yet, we can support you as you work towards it.
