We make sweets that make people's day. We need someone to show the world what that actually looks like.
Brand Hatchers owns and builds consumer brands from Cardiff. The biggest is Brain Blasterz, a sour candy brand that's getting a lot more adventurous, which sells across Europe, the US, Australia and the Middle East. We also own Nurture by Nature and Guitar Lab, bestsellers in their categories on Amazon UK, US and EU.
Our brands are global. Our social isn't yet fast enough to match them.
So this job isn't about maintaining our channels. It's about making us quicker, sharper and more present online.
What you'd actually be doing
Content and social, the heart of the job
Roughly two thirds of your week, across Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.
You'd be making and publishing the content that carries our brands, filming in the office/at home, editing it, writing the captions and getting it out.
- Filming and editing short-form video. Product launches, taste tests, new packaging landing. Phone footage, quickly cut.
- Running the weekly content rhythm we already have planned, and adding to it whenever you spot something worth posting.
- Jumping on trends while they're still trends. You'll spot them before we do, and you won't need to ask permission.
- Creating AI-assisted imagery and video. We shoot our products on white backgrounds specifically so we can generate lifestyle imagery from them, and we use AI across a lot of how we produce content. You don't need to know how yet, we'll train you on it.
- Community management comments, DMs, and finding the customer content worth resharing.
- Owning Instagram and LinkedIn day to day- both the content and the posting.
- Working alongside our TikTok VA on TikTok, so between you the channel gets more than either could manage alone.
And around that
The other third is the wider marketing work that keeps everything moving.
- Trade show support. We exhibit at ISM in Cologne in February, the biggest confectionery show in the world. You'd help with the planning, the merchandise, the materials, the content needs.
- Marketing materials. Helping produce and organise the catalogues, product sheets and asset packs our distributors around the world work from.
- Website updates across our brand sites.
- General marketing admin. Keeping projects tracked, chasing the things that need chasing, and making sure nothing slips.
THE ONE THING WE CAN'T FLEX ON
You need to be able to film and edit short-form video. Not to an agency standard- on a phone, quickly, and watchable. It's the core skill in this job and the hardest one to teach. We'll ask to see two examples, so don't worry about how you word it on your CV; just send us things you've made.
Who we're looking for
This is an entry-level role. We're not expecting a track record- we're looking for someone who can already make things and wants to get really good at this.
You'll probably be a good fit if:
- You can shoot and cut a video on your phone that people actually watch to the end.
- You understand TikTok as a participant, you know what's working this week and why.
- You're comfortable being in an office where things move quickly and nobody has a narrow job description.
- You take ownership. If something's scheduled and yours, it happens, you don't need chasing, and you'll say so when it's gone wrong.
- You bring energy to it. You want to be good at this, you turn up with ideas rather than waiting to be handed them, and people can feel the spark in what you make.
- You'd rather ask a question than guess.
What you don't need:
- A marketing degree, or any particular degree.
- Agency experience, or professional experience at all.
- Any of the software we use, we'll sort that.
- Experience with AI tools. We'll teach you, and we'd rather you were curious than already certain.
- To have worked in food or FMCG before.
What you'd get out of it:
- Real ownership, quickly. You'd be running the social channels of a brand sold in more than 36 countries. That's not a shadowing role and there's no layer of approvals between you and the work.
- Direct access to the person running the business. You'd work with me weekly, see how the commercial decisions get made, and have your ideas actually land somewhere.
- Proper AI skills, taught properly. We'll train you on the tools we use to generate imagery and video and to produce content far fast.
- A portfolio. Three months of published work on real brands with real audiences, which is worth considerably more than a reference.
- A shot at something permanent. See below — we mean this.
If you prove you can do this, there's a lot more here than a posting schedule. Someone who shows they can make good content and read what's actually working will get to shape where these channels go- what we make, how we sound, which platforms we bet on and which we drop.
CONTRACT LENGTH
This starts as an initial three-month contract as we'd rather commit properly to a short period than over-promise on a long one.
If it goes well for both of us, we'd want to make it permanent and grow it.

STARTING

How to apply:
Two things:
- Your CV, or a LinkedIn profile, or just an email telling us who you are.
- Two short videos — 15 to 30 seconds each — that you've filmed and edited yourself. We're asking for two because we'd like them to be different:
◦ One about a thing. An object, a product, some food- anything you can make look good. If you want a prompt: show us something you'd want to eat.
◦ One with a person in it. You, a friend, whoever. We want to see if you can make people watch people, not just objects.
Send both to [email protected] with “Content & Social” in the subject line.
No cover letter. Applications that don't arrive this way, without the two videos, or sent somewhere else, won't be looked at. If we like what you send, we'll get you in for a coffee and a chat.
ONE LAST THING
If you're reading this thinking you can do the job but you don't look like the obvious candidate on paper- apply anyway, and let the videos do the talking!
