Full job description

Chime HR Ltd is expanding its services and is looking for an experienced Payroll & HR Manager to establish and manage our new payroll service.

This is a zero-hours position, with hours offered as work becomes available. Initially, you will be responsible for setting up the payroll function using BrightPay, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements, and developing efficient payroll processes. As our client base grows, you will manage payroll services for our clients.

In addition to payroll, you will provide HR support to the business as required, including recruitment, contracts of employment, onboarding, and general HR administration.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and manage the company's payroll service using BrightPay.
Process payroll accurately and on time for clients.
Ensure compliance with HMRC, PAYE, pensions and statutory payroll requirements.
Maintain accurate payroll records.
Develop payroll systems, processes and procedures.
Provide HR support, including recruitment administration, employment contracts, onboarding and employee records.
Advise the business on payroll and HR best practice.

Essential Requirements

At least two years' payroll experience.
Experience using BrightPay payroll software.
Good knowledge of PAYE, pensions, statutory payments and HMRC requirements.
Previous HR experience or a good understanding of HR processes.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the payroll function.
