We are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Planner (MEP) to join our team, supporting the successful delivery of a complex live project with an extended programme of works. This is a key role responsible for leading programme management across the MEP installation, integration and commissioning phases, ensuring delivery remains aligned to client milestones and project objectives.
Working closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and specialist subcontractors, you will drive programme performance through effective planning, Lean Planning methodology, and robust reporting. You'll play a vital role in identifying risks, developing recovery strategies and providing the visibility needed to successfully deliver a challenging and high-profile project.
Key Duties
- Lead the development, management and maintenance of detailed MEP construction and commissioning programmes, ensuring alignment with project milestones and client requirements.
- Champion Lean Planning across the project, facilitating daily site briefings, short interval planning, weekly progress reporting and continuous programme improvement.
- Monitor programme performance, identify risks and delays, develop recovery strategies and provide clear reporting to project teams and client stakeholders.
- Coordinate design, procurement, installation and commissioning activities, ensuring effective sequencing and management of interfaces within a live project environment.
- Support project delivery teams through programme advice, mentoring junior planners where required, and ensuring compliance with NEC contractual requirements and company planning standards.
About You
You will be an experienced Planner with a strong background in MEP or Building Services projects and a proven ability to manage programmes through construction and commissioning on complex live projects.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in MEP/Building Services planning within a main contractor environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Planning, programme controls, progress reporting and recovery planning.
- Experience using planning software such as Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- A solid understanding of MEP installation, commissioning, design and procurement interfaces, together with NEC contract requirements.
- Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.
