Role: Head Café Chef/Cook
Position Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: 35A Silverbridge Road
Hours: Approx 40 hours/week, Tuesday-Saturday (Typical Shift: 8.30am - 3.30pm)
Wage: Negotiable Depending On Experience
About Swanky Coffee
We are a new independent café opening in Silverbridge, South Armagh, serving high quality speciality coffee, teas, milkshakes and brunch food in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
We are seeking a reliable, organised and hard-working Chef/Cook to join our small team and help us build a strong reputation for friendly service and delicious food with a touch of luxury (swankiness).
This role would perfectly suit someone with experience in cafés and/or breakfast/brunch/lunch service who enjoys working in a fast-paced but supportive team.
Main Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Preparing and cooking café brunch dishes. This includes traditional breakfast dishes, poached/fried/scrambled eggs, toasted sandwiches/wraps, pancake waffles and salads.
- Managing food service.
- Preparing ingredients and completing daily food prep tasks.
- Ensuring food is consistently prepared and presented to a high standard.
- Supporting menu design and development.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.
- Monitoring stock levels and communicating ordering needs.
- Strictly follow food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Assisting KP/kitchen assistant staff duties when required after busy periods.
- Assisting with opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Working collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a café, brunch, lunch or other fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to work calmy under pressure.
- Ability to multitask.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and health & safety.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Positive attitude and teamworking skills.
- Experience with prep systems and stock management.
- Strong knowledge of and interest in café style food.
