Job Title: R&D Chemist

Location: Office Based, Derby

Key duties and responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to

Carry out all work in accordance with the QMS, to agreed timelines and specifications.
Perform Technical Service work as requested and communicate results effectively with customers. Process samples in connection with technical service activities, record and report results as appropriate.
Provide absence/holiday cover for the manufacturing QC function as required.
Carry out R&D work on new products, improvements to existing formulations and evaluation of new and alternative raw materials.
Attend QC meetings as required, produce data on QC test results and work on technical improvements in production processes.
Represent the department at meetings as required. Produce and present data on project progress and test results.
Originate and maintain medical device technical documentation in accordance with scheduled updates and new requirements, working closely with the Quality & Regulatory department.

Education or qualifications –

Degree or equivalent in chemistry or a related discipline (essential).
Relevant industrial experience (desirable).
Knowledge and experience in chemical formulation. (desirable)
IT skills – MS Office

Perseverance, patience and attention to detail.
