Vacancy: Deputy Head of Finance
The House of Bruar seeks a Deputy Head of Finance to support the Head of Finance in leading and developing the Finance team and overseeing Finance operations. This is an in person only role, based at our offices just outside of Blair Atholl.

Role Overview
The Deputy Head of Finance is a senior professional and the second-in-command within the Finance function of our large retail organisation. The role involves overseeing financial operations, and providing strategic financial analysis to senior management. This position requires a proactive, results-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment whilst optimising the performance of the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations and Oversight: Oversee and manage day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management.
Financial Planning and Analysis: Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies, long-term financial planning processes. Provide financial analysis and insights, including financial reports, margin analysis, and cost analysis, to support strategic decision-making.
Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports for a variety of stakeholders.
Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and manage financial risks by implementing and maintaining effective internal controls and risk management strategies. Ensure full compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards and internal governance policies.
Team Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Participate in the selection, training, and evaluation of personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree - Ideally in finance, accounting or business administration or equivalent experience
A minimum of 5 years in finance, accounting or administration roles with increasing levels of responsibility, demonstrating a proven track record of successful financial management.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and accounting practices.
Proven experience in complex financial planning processes.
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is desirable.
