Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components with precision and expertise, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where mechanical knowledge and welding skills are highly valued. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a passion for metalwork and fabrication.

Duties

Operate various welding techniques, including TIG welding, to assemble metal components according to specifications.
Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other materials.
Read and interpret technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
Perform basic measurements and calculations using simple math skills to ensure precise fitting of parts.
Conduct quality checks on welded joints and fabricated parts to maintain safety and quality standards.
Assist in the assembly of finished products, ensuring all components are correctly fitted and secured.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and resolve technical issues promptly.

Requirements

Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards.
Architectural metal fabrication experience preferred
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment for sheet metal work.
Mechanical knowledge related to metal fabrication processes and welding techniques.
Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic math calculations accurately.
Experience with assembly processes involving metal components.
Experience with a range of metals including brass, stainless, copper,pewter etc
Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality assurance.
Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Relevant certifications or training in welding or fabrication are preferred but not essential.
