Telford Opticians is an established independent practice that has been providing professional, personalised eye care to the local community for almost 30 years.
We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional clinical care alongside a friendly and highly personal service. Our practice combines modern testing technology with a broad range of specialist services, high-quality eyewear, carefully selected frame collections and premium ZEISS lenses.
Our services include comprehensive eye examinations, contact lenses, children’s eye care, myopia management, dry-eye treatment, emergency eye care and support for a range of eye conditions.
We are now looking for a patient-focused Optometrist to join our professional and supportive team.
The Role
This is primarily a full-time position; however, we will also consider part-time working arrangements for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will provide high-quality clinical care while building trusted, long-term relationships with our patients. You will have the time and support required to conduct thorough examinations, explain clinical findings clearly and recommend solutions tailored to each patient’s individual needs and lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to a high clinical standard
- Assess patients’ visual and ocular health needs
- Identify, manage and refer ocular conditions appropriately
- Provide clear, professional advice to patients
- Recommend suitable spectacle lenses, frames and contact lenses
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records
- Work collaboratively with dispensing and support colleagues
- Deliver an excellent and personalised patient experience
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing professional development
- Follow all relevant clinical, professional and regulatory standards
About You
We are looking for an Optometrist who is clinically confident, approachable and committed to providing an excellent standard of care.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified Optometrist registered with the General Optical Council
- Have strong clinical knowledge and sound professional judgement
- Communicate clearly and sensitively with patients
- Take a thorough, patient-centred approach to eye care
- Be comfortable working independently and as part of a close-knit team
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
- Be committed to maintaining high professional and ethical standards
- Have the right to work in the UK
