We are looking for a Principal Health Economist to join our team, reporting to the Director of Modelling and Statistics

Core Competencies
- Leading on the design and development of high-quality health economic models across multiple disease areas for pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and medical devices, ensuring scientific rigour and clinical relevance
- Project managing multiple projects simultaneously, assuring quality and delivery to time and budgets
- Leading development of modelling and statistics proposals
- Representing Maverex in client meetings and pitches
- Providing technical leadership, training and mentoring to junior staff
- Facilitating business growth by building and maintaining strategic client relationships
- Supporting cross-functional projects including but not limited to the development of HTA submissions, conducting literature reviews in support of model development, and supporting the communication of modelling activities through internal and external presentations, posters, and manuscripts
- Contributing to thought leadership
Essential Experience
- Post-graduate degree in Health Economics, mathematics / statistics or engineering related subject
- A minimum of 8+ years’ experience developing decision analytical models for the Life Sciences field, in a variety of software including Microsoft Excel/VBA and/or R and with appropriate version control (use of Git)
- Proven experience in the development of a wide-range of decision-analytical models across multiple therapeutic areas;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex and technical information effectively to a range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience supporting HTA submissions
- Experience in scoping and costing health economic models for proposals, and presenting these in pitches
- Proven influencing and negotiation skills, comfortable in discussing trade-offs and methodological decisions with senior client stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Results-oriented with a strong accountability mindset
- Self-motivating and confident working both independently and collaboratively
Desirable Experience:
- Extensive experience working in a consultancy environment
- Expertise in global market access with understanding of HTA-relevant guidelines, techniques and methodologies
- Experience with AI-assisted modelling
- Strong network within the pharmaceutical, diagnostic and medical devices industries
- Experience of successfully leading multiple project teams in parallel and mentoring junior team members
- Track record of successful business development, client relationship management and account growth
- Demonstrated thought leadership through publications and conference presentations
- Experience in line management
