CNC Milling Engineer / Offline Programmer
About the Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Milling Engineer / Offline Programmer to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on role that combines offline programming with shopfloor support, ideal for someone who enjoys seeing a job through from CAD/CAM to successful production.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer you will primarily be responsible for creating and proving CNC programs using SolidWorks and Hyper Mill, while also spending time on the shop floor supporting machining operations, tooling selection, fixture, and program optimization.

Hours of Work, Pay & Benefits
· Full Time, Permanent
· Monday to Friday (42 hours per week).
· Competitive salary (dependent on experience).

Key Responsibilities
· Create efficient and accurate offline CNC programs for milling operations.
· Use SolidWorks and Hyper Mill to generate toolpaths and machining strategies.
· Support shopfloor machining by assisting with tooling, fixturing, and machine setup.
· Prove, test, and optimize CNC programs on the machine.
· Work closely with machinists, production, and engineering teams to improve cycle times and process reliability.
· Contribute to continuous improvement in machining methods and best practice.
· Time studies for sales team quotations for complex parts
Skills & Experience
· Proven experience as a CNC Milling Engineer / Programmer.
· Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and Hyper Mill.
· Experience programming CNC milling machines (3-axis and ideally multi-axis).
· Good understanding of cutting tools, work holding, and fixturing.
· Confident working in a semi-shopfloor-based role.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
· A practical, problem-solving mindset.
Desirable
· Experience in precision engineering or low-volume, high-complexity environment.
· Knowledge of multiple CNC control systems.
· Exposure to continuous improvement and/or lean manufacturing principles.
