Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Tandoori Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management, with a particular focus on tandoori cuisine. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise in a vibrant hospitality environment, contributing to the delivery of authentic and high-quality dishes. Candidates with supervising experience and a strong background in food safety and restaurant operations are highly desirable. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of tandoori dishes, leading kitchen staff, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook authentic tandoori dishes according to established recipes and standards
Supervise kitchen staff during food preparation, ensuring efficiency and quality control
Manage food production processes, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
Oversee food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations and hygiene standards
Lead team management efforts, including training new staff and fostering a collaborative work environment
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to prevent shortages
Ensure all dishes are served promptly and meet customer expectations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area at all times
Assist in menu development by suggesting new tandoori recipes or variations

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a Indian restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
Excellent culinary skills specialising in tandoori cuisine or similar Indian dishes
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Good understanding of food production processes and restaurant service procedures
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential; however, familiarity with customer service is beneficial
