Our Fitters are critical in delivering the high-quality installations that Amber is renowned for. You will be responsible for delivering the professional installation of windows, doors and conservatories, ensuring every project meets our standards and exceeds customer expectations.
Our work can range from a standard casement windows, to houses full of flush/sash/aluminum windows, standard conservatories to £200k home extensions, as well as composite, bifold, and triple track doors.
On the commercial side, we work with a lot of care homes, vicarages, and schools where discretion is required, and DBS checks will need to be completed.
Responsibilities
Installations and Technical work
- Installing windows and doors to a high standard in line with surveyor specifications and FENSA specifications
- Ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to residents. This includes removal of old windows/doors to final clean up
- Carrying out sealing, finishing and adjustments with precision and attention to details to ensure all installations are weatherproof and aesthetically finished to a high standard
- Work with a variety of material including uPVC, aluminium, Ultraframe roofs, and composite doors
- Ensure health and safety are adhered to and onsite housekeeping standards are maintained
- Liaise with our Surveyors / Installations Manager to solve technical issues that may arise on site
- Liaise the storeman, Installation coordinators or Installations Manager to resolve any missing/incorrect/damaged parts immediately, to allow quick resolution
Health and Safety and Site Management
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company health and safety policies at all times
- Ensure all tools and materials are properly stored and secured
- Ensure site boards are displayed at all installations
- Tools, Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance
- Regularly inspect and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
- Maintain clean and tidy company vans at all times
- Report any equipment faults or maintenance requirements promptly
- Ensure all tools and materials are properly stored and secured
Customer Service
- Demonstrate how to use products correctly to customers when they are available on-site
- Represent Amber Home Improvement professionally at all times on customer properties
- Maintain respectful and courteous interactions with customers
- Leave customer properties clean, tidy, and free from installation debris
- Answer basic customer questions and direct more complex queries to the Operations Team
- Getting the satisfaction note signed at the end of each installation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in windows, doors and/or conservatories fitting
- Proven ability to install uPVC, aluminium to a high standard
- Full UK driving licence is a must to drive Amber’s vans
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work at height safely
- Good verbal communication skills and team player attitude
- Punctual, dependable and committed to completed work to schedule
- Experience with conservatory and warm roof installations
