Full job description

Due to continued growth, Preston Grasshoppers are looking to expand our management team with the appointment of a Bars & Catering Manager. This is a hands-on role combining operational leadership and responsibilities involved to ensure the smooth running of the bars and catering team , ideal for someone confident across all areas of hospitality and events.

As Bars & Catering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of our bars, catering, and events. You will work closely with front-of-house teams, and clients to ensure smooth operations, high service standards, and memorable guest experiences.

Regular working pattern will be 5 days out of 7, Thursday to Monday, with some flexibility required around business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the delivery of exceptional hospitality services across the site
Oversee bar, catering, and event operations, ensuring consistent quality and service standards
Act as a key point of contact for clients and guests during events
Lead, motivate, and support the hospitality team to deliver excellent customer service
Assist with staff recruitment, training, development, and performance management
Manage stock control, cellar management, and inventory levels, placing orders as required
Support event planning and manage event logistics including staffing, equipment, set-up, and service
Be the first point of contact for resolving issues during events and service periods
Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and organisation across FOH and BOH areas
Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, food safety, and bar safety regulations
Contribute to achieving targets and improving operational efficiency

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in a supervisory role within hospitality and events
Experience within sports venues or function suites is desirable
Personal Alcohol Licence Holder (essential)
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
Experience in cellar management and bar operations
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
A proactive, professional approach with a passion for food, drink, and guest service
Solid understanding of bar safety practices and regulatory compliance
