Full job description

Job purpose

Working closely with the Quality and Production team, the hygiene operative is responsible for ensuring that all cleaning jobs are completed to the highest standard.

General Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities of this role include;

Responsible for the adequate cleaning of the factory in all high risk, low risk and amenity areas.
Ensure that all daily, weekly, monthly and 6 monthly tasks are completed on time and to schedule.
Be aware of cross contamination risks and ensure all product and packaging is removed prior to the commencement of cleaning activities
Assist setting up machinery and equipment in production areas to ensure the production team can commence work upon arrival.
Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed prior to production commencing.
Ensure all waste is disposed of in correct containers/skips and relevant information recorded.
To ensure the relevant PPE is worn and used for all cleaning activities.
To handle all equipment including blades of slicers with care and as per the SOP
Replenish supplies to all dispensers of chemicals and PPE across the site.
Ensure all cleaning supplies are stored in appropriate areas and correctly labelled/identified.
To use cleaning materials appropriately, as per safety data sheets and SOP
To support production to ensure all cook cycles are completed and product is cooled and store within the required time frames and to the correct temperatures, where cook cycles end during the hygiene shift pattern but outside of the production shift pattern
To maintain hygiene records
To liaise with other departments to ensure issues are reported and remedial action taken to support the business in achieving its commitments to health and safety, food safety, efficiency and waste reduction
Any other tasks commensurate with the role

Qualifications / Skills

Ideally food safety level 2
Ideally health & safety level 2
Ideally HACCP level 2
Chemical training
All accidents and near misses are reported and recorded.
Ensuring good hygiene practices are adhered to at all times.
To engage in our food safety culture.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
To always follow a “Clean as You GO” attitude.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Pay: £14.00 per hour
