IT Hardware Technician / Laptop & PC Refurbishment Technician
Location: Northampton
Company: Cybist Ltd
Role type: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Cybist Ltd is a growing e-commerce business specialising in high-quality refurbished and renewed IT equipment from leading brands including Dell, HP and Lenovo.
We are looking for a capable, reliable and ambitious IT Hardware Technician to join our technical team. The role will primarily involve working on laptops and PCs, including leading business-class and workstation models, preparing them to a high standard for resale.
This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who is dextrous, efficient and quality-focused. We are looking for someone who can work quickly without cutting corners, take pride in their output, and consistently look for ways to improve how work is done.
This role will suit someone who is naturally driven, organised and competitive in the right way — someone who wants to become highly productive, beat targets, improve processes and be recognised for doing excellent work.
Key responsibilities
- Refurbishing, upgrading and preparing laptops, PCs and related IT hardware
- Working on systems from leading manufacturers including Dell, HP and Lenovo
- Installing and upgrading components such as RAM, SSDs, batteries and other parts
- Testing, cleaning, grading and preparing units to a high resale standard
- Working to production targets while maintaining strong quality control
- Identifying faults, issues or opportunities for process improvement
- Looking for better, faster and more reliable ways to complete work
- Supporting the wider team in a busy e-commerce and refurbishment environment
- Helping ensure products are accurately prepared for sale through channels including Amazon
The person we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
- Fast, practical and confident working with IT hardware
- Highly dextrous and comfortable handling small components
- Extremely reliable, with excellent punctuality and attendance
- Driven to meet and exceed targets
- Motivated by becoming one of the most productive people in their area
- Quality-orientated and consistent
- Always looking to improve efficiency, accuracy and output
- Organised, focused and able to keep momentum throughout the day
- A good communicator and team player
- Able to take ownership of their area of work
- Willing to suggest improvements rather than simply follow existing processes
- Ambitious and keen to progress within a growing business
Experience working with laptops, PCs, repairs, upgrades or IT hardware refurbishment would be an advantage. However, attitude, reliability, practical ability and speed of learning are just as important.
What we offer
- A varied role working with modern laptops, PCs and leading technology brands
- Exposure to a successful e-commerce business
- Experience with online sales channels including Amazon and Amazon Seller Central
- A supportive, helpful and knowledgeable team environment
- Clear expectations around quality, productivity and improvement
- Room for progression as the business continues to grow
- The opportunity to take ownership, suggest improvements and become a key person within your area
This role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing things properly, and wants to be part of a business that is performing well and continuing to expand.
We are especially interested in candidates who are very organised, want to challenge themselves, develop their skills and become genuinely excellent at what they do.
Salary: Starting salary, dependent on experience, relevant skills and practical ability, with scope to progress as you develop within the role.
To apply, please send your CV and a short note explaining your relevant experience, why you would be a good fit for the role, and what makes you confident you could perform well in a practical, target-driven technical environment.
Pay: £23,500.00-£27,000.00 per year
