General Labouring Operatives (3 Positions Available)
Location: Northampton
Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 6:00am – 4:00pm
Prestige Pipelaying JV Ltd has specialised in Utility Reinstatement since 2020, delivering high-quality reinstatement services across the East Midlands and East Anglia. We work in partnership with major clients including Cadent Gas, SGN, Anglian Water, Clancy Docwra and Kier Group.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an General Labouring Operative to join our expanding reinstatement teams.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on role working alongside experienced reinstatement and groundwork teams across multiple utility contracts. No two days are the same, and you'll gain experience across a wide range of reinstatement and civil engineering activities while contributing to the safe and efficient completion of works.
Daily Duties May Include
- Backfilling excavations.
- Assisting with tarmac reinstatement works.
- General groundwork and labouring duties.
- Preparing work areas and maintaining a safe site.
- Loading, unloading and handling materials and equipment.
- Jet washing and cleaning completed reinstatement works.
- Ensuring sites are left clean, safe and ready for reopening.
- Supporting reinstatement operatives with day-to-day activities.
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Travelling between sites when required.

What We're Looking For
- Previous construction, groundwork or labouring experience is preferred but not essential.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliable, hardworking and punctual.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Strong awareness of health and safety.
- Flexible approach to daily tasks and changing workloads.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred but not essential).
- Right to work in the UK.
- You must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test. Random Drug & Alcohol testing is carried out throughout employment in line with company policy. Please do not apply if you are unable or unwilling to meet this requirement.
- Strong work ethic and excellent timekeeping.
