Accounts Administrator

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Accounts Administrator to join a property agency.

Location: Northampton
Salary: Starting at £27,000
Hours: 8:30am–5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break
Holidays: 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays

About the Company

The company is a property agency managing a substantial portfolio of properties. Staff enjoy a friendly working environment while providing a high level of customer service at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Download and reconcile banking transactions from the previous day, including PDQ entries, cash, standing orders, direct debits, BACS payments and cheques.
Ensure any cash received in the office is banked on the same day.
Prepare landlord payments three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Check that payments are correct and amend them where necessary.
Pay contractors and utility bills.
Issue arrears letters at 7, 14 and 21 days.
Issue Section 8 and Section 21 notices.
Review the previous week’s activity to ensure outstanding balances are being effectively collected.
Follow up outstanding balances by telephone where necessary.
Take rent payments over the telephone using a virtual terminal.
Process new move-ins daily.
Register deposits with the relevant schemes.
Ensure all deposit refunds are returned within the prescribed time limits.
De-register deposits.
Handle rent protection claims and renewals.
Complete monthly deposit reconciliations.
Complete end-of-month bank reconciliations.
Complete quarterly overseas landlord tax returns.
Prepare monthly portfolio reports.
