Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join our client's reputable legal practice. The successful candidate will specialise in advising clients on a broad range of private client matters, including wills, trusts, estate planning, probate, and succession. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic team committed to delivering exceptional legal services to high-net-worth individuals and families. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills and a client-focused approach, ensuring tailored solutions that meet clients’ unique needs.

Duties

Drafting and reviewing wills, trusts, and estate planning documents with precision and attention to detail
Advising clients on inheritance tax planning, estate administration, and probate procedures
Managing a diverse caseload of private client matters from inception through to completion
Negotiating terms and agreements with clients, beneficiaries, and third parties to achieve favourable outcomes
Providing clear legal advice tailored to individual client circumstances
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory changes affecting private client work
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure ongoing trust and satisfaction
Collaborating with colleagues across departments to deliver comprehensive legal solutions

Experience

Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ experience specialising in private client law
Proven track record in managing complex estate planning and probate cases effectively
Demonstrable expertise in negotiation, with the ability to secure advantageous terms for clients
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple matters efficiently
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an aptitude for explaining legal concepts clearly to clients
Experience working within a fast-paced legal environment with strict deadlines is desirable
