Full job description

Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Mentor to join our Education & Training team. This role involves providing advanced support to students across programmes through one-to-one and small group interventions, cover sessions and non-accredited sessions, and supporting learners with additional needs to achieve their qualifications and progression goals. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop professional skills whilst making a meaningful difference in young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver one-to-one and small group support sessions.
Provide advanced educational and pastoral support for learners with additional needs.
Prepare and deliver non-accredited and cover sessions when required.
Support students in developing confidence, independence, engagement, and positive behaviours.
Act as a positive role model and learning mentor for students.
Monitor learners’ social, emotional, and physical wellbeing and escalate concerns where appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential:

Maths and English Grade C or equivalent
Safeguarding Certificate(s)

Desirable:

First Aid Qualification

Skills

Competent in functional skills and ICT
Adaptable, creative, calm, caring, and dedicated.
Understanding behaviour management strategies is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of working with special education needs (SEN) learners aged 16+ is desirable but not essential

Pay: £12.80-£13.00 per hour
