About the Role
As a Florist at Memento, you'll be at the heart of our busy shop, creating unique floral designs for everything from everyday bouquets to wedding, events and tributes. You'll work with your hands, connect with customers, and help us keep Memento at the forefront of Belfast's floral scene.
We have mixed roles available varying between 16 & 24 part time hours to full-time role (40 hours/week). Flexibility to work across weekdays and weekends is essential. Expect additional hours during peak periods like Valentine's, Mother's Day, and Christmas.

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)
- Unique Floral Design: Creating a wide range of beautiful bouquets, bespoke arrangements, and tributes to our high standards and unique style. This includes designing our seasonal collections, but also bringing your own creative flair.
- Customer Service: Supporting our customers and helping them choose the perfect flowers, plants or gift, using your floristry experience to recommend the most suitable option from our collection and ensuring every customer leaves with a smile and a great experience.
- Flower Care & Preparation: Unpacking fresh flower deliveries, conditioning stems, and ensuring all flowers are stored correctly to maximise their life and beauty.
- Shop Presentation: Keeping the shop floor, work areas and flower bar, clean, tidy, and beautifully merchandised throughout the day.
- Order Fulfilment: Preparing floral orders for collection or delivery, working to our brand guidelines ensuring they are ready on time.
Important, but not daily
- Wedding & Event Work: Designing and creating both our no fuss and tailored floral installations and arrangements for weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions.
- Stock Management: Helping to monitor flower and plant stock levels, ensuring we order what's needed and minimising waste of perishable produce.
- Product Development Input: Contributing ideas and feedback to help us build and refine our product offerings based on trends and customer feedback.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participating in team chats and creative catch-ups, sharing inspiration, and fostering a positive, supportive work environment.
What We're Looking For
- We need someone who loves flowers, loves people, and isn't afraid of a busy day.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a florist or in a similar creative retail environment.
- Qualifications: A recognised floristry qualification, or a strong portfolio that clearly demonstrates your design skills and experience.
- Design Skills: Confident and creative design abilities, with an eye for detail and a passion for creating beautiful things.
- Customer Focus: Excellent customer service skills – you’re friendly, approachable, and genuinely enjoy helping people.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, both with customers and your team.
- Work Ethic: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on, team-driven environment. This is a physical job that requires you to be on your feet and lifting.
