This is an exciting opportunity for a creative designer to take ownership of a varied portfolio of design work within an established commercial environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality visual content across signage, marketing, digital and print materials, working closely with colleagues across the business to turn ideas and requirements into effective visual solutions.
The role would suit a designer who enjoys seeing their work move beyond the screen and into physical production, with the opportunity to work on everything from road and traffic signage through to marketing collateral, digital content and company communications.
The Role
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating and adapting a wide range of visual assets for the business and its customers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and producing artwork for a wide range of road, traffic and bespoke signage.
- Creating artwork and production-ready files in line with relevant specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Developing marketing collateral including brochures, presentations, leaflets, datasheets and promotional materials.
- Creating digital content for the company's website, social media and other digital channels.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the company's visual identity and brand guidelines.
- Working with internal teams to understand design briefs and translate requirements into effective visual solutions.
- Reviewing customer artwork and making amendments where required.
- Preparing files for print and manufacturing, ensuring accuracy across dimensions, colours, typography and specifications.
- Liaising with production colleagues to ensure designs are practical, accurate and suitable for manufacture.
- Producing visual concepts, layouts and mock-ups where required.
- Managing multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards and meeting deadlines.
- Maintaining organised digital artwork files, templates and design assets.
- Supporting the wider marketing and commercial team with ad-hoc design requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Signage & Production Artwork
- Create accurate artwork for road signage, directional signage, warning signs, regulatory signs, temporary signage and bespoke projects.
- Ensure artwork meets relevant technical, regulatory and production requirements.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to resolve artwork or production queries.
Marketing & Brand
- Develop creative materials that support the organisation's commercial and marketing objectives.
- Produce brochures, product sheets, presentations, exhibition materials and other printed collateral.
- Help maintain consistency across all customer-facing communications.
Digital
- Produce graphics for websites, LinkedIn and other social media channels.
- Support the creation of digital campaigns, product visuals and promotional content.
- Assist with updating and developing visual content across digital platforms.
Internal Support
- Work collaboratively with sales, operations, production and management teams.
- Respond to design requests from across the organisation.
- Manage competing priorities and communicate effectively regarding project timescales.
Person Specification
Essential Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous professional experience working as a Graphic Designer, ideally within an in-house, manufacturing, print, signage or agency environment.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design ability.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
- Experience creating artwork for print and/or physical production.
- A good understanding of typography, layout, colour, imagery and visual hierarchy.
- Experience preparing artwork to professional print and production standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to interpret a brief and develop an appropriate creative solution.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- A practical and commercially aware approach to design.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is likely to have approximately 2–5 years' commercial design experience, although applications from candidates with greater experience will be considered where the role and salary are aligned with their expectations.
The organisation is particularly interested in candidates who have experience across signage, large-format print, manufacturing, packaging, print production, marketing agencies or in-house marketing teams.
Production knowledge is particularly valuable, as the successful candidate will need to understand how designs translate from the screen into physical products. Experience using Adobe Illustrator alongside print production, large-format or signage artwork would therefore be highly advantageous.
Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
