At our specialist preschool, we provide exceptional care and early learning for children aged 2 to 5 years with disabilities and/or complex health needs. What you’ll be doing:

Delivering fun, play-based activities that bring the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to life

Creating a safe, caring, and stimulating environment — indoors and outdoors — where children can learn, explore, and shine

Helping every child reach their full potential through thoughtful, inclusive planning

Supporting children with their health needs, including administering medication, enteral feeding, personal care, and other agreed procedures (training provided!)

Making sure we always meet our high standards — including Ofsted requirements

Working as part of a friendly, supportive team led by our Early Years Manager

A Level 3 Early Years Qualification recognised by Ofsted as full and relevant

Role Details

Post: Level 3 Early Years Practitioner

Based at: The Hamlet Children’s Centre, Johnson Place, Norwich NR2 1SJ.

Full Time, 36 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Rate of pay:
Hourly rate: £12.71

Interviews: To be arranged

Purpose and Scope of the Role

To work as part of our dedicated pre-school team, delivering high-quality care and engaging, play-based learning opportunities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will play a vital role in helping each child reach their full potential, while meeting the specific health and developmental needs of children in our care.

Deliver play-based EYFS activities for individual children and small groups under the direction of the Early Years Manager.

Create and maintain a safe, caring, and stimulating environment, both indoors and outdoors.

Ensure all activities and practices meet Ofsted requirements at all times.

Plan and deliver activities that promote each child’s learning, development, and well-being.

Provide high-quality care for children with health needs, which may include:

Administering medication.

Supporting with enteral feeding.

Assisting with personal care.

Carrying out other agreed health-related procedures in line with The Hamlet’s policies.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.

Supporting our Safeguarding Commitment:

You will be required to hold a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and have supplied at least 2 satisfactory references before starting work. Any conviction or adverse report relating to care, children, at risk adults, or dishonesty would make a candidate unsuitable for this role.
