As a Dog Groomer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry clients while providing exceptional grooming services. Your expertise will help maintain the appearance and hygiene of pets, making them look and feel their best. Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling pets according to breed standards and owner preferences.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any health issues that may require veterinary attention.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming options, care tips, and any concerns regarding their pets.
- Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment by regularly sanitising tools and equipment.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process.
- Lift and manage large or heavy pets as required during grooming sessions.
- Keep accurate records of services provided and any observations made during grooming sessions.
Skills
- Minimum of a Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification plus at least 1 years experience in a salon.
- Good time management and the ability to self manage.
- Confident managing your own schedule and handling clients independently.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with pet owners.
- Experience in heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or multiple animals.
- Knowledge of veterinary care practices is advantageous for recognising health issues in pets.
- A genuine passion for animal care, demonstrating empathy and patience when working with various temperaments of pets.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to pet owners regarding their pet's grooming needs.
