We are pleased to advertise for a Radiology Cancer Pathway Navigator.
This post will be suitable for a person with an interest in the cancer pathway, supporting Radiology in their role in meeting the Faster Diagnosis Standard.
The post holder will work within radiology and collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure patients receive comprehensive and timely investigation of a suspected cancer. They will be expected to proactively break down any barriers to access and provide a key point of contact for patients.

Proactively monitor patients’ progress along their pathway on a daily basis, highlighting problems to the management team and escalating where necessary according to local protocols.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with the wider MDT in pursuit of delivery of care within defined cancer wait time targets.
Liaise with the relevant Radiology Modality Manager to escalate patients in need of imaging.
To regularly review all 2 week wait patients within Radiology and identify delays in managing patients.
Work closely with the administrative services across sites (including booking team), diagnostic services and clinical team to ensure next actions are regularly updated and completed - including the booking of procedures.
Develop and maintain knowledge of the cancer pathway provision across Radiology and have detailed understanding of steps within patient pathway and the associated flows of information.
