About the Role
Nottingham has a strong retail, fashion and digital commerce economy supported by established brands, fulfilment networks and a growing technology community. At Velbutti Fashion and Retail Services, we support customers through online fashion retail, digital marketplaces, merchandise planning and efficient fulfilment services.
We are looking for a Senior E Commerce Manager who can take ownership of online trading performance, digital customer experience and commercial growth across our e commerce channels. You will work closely with merchandising, marketing, technology, customer service, logistics and commercial teams to ensure that customers receive a smooth and engaging shopping experience.
This role is suited to an experienced e commerce professional who can combine commercial judgement with strong analytical and digital trading skills. You will manage online performance, improve conversion and guide initiatives that increase customer acquisition, retention and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- E Commerce Strategy: Develop and implement an online trading strategy that supports revenue growth, customer engagement and brand objectives.
- Website Trading: Manage daily website trading activity, including product visibility, promotions, navigation, pricing and campaign execution.
- Commercial Performance: Monitor revenue, conversion, average order value, margin and other key commercial measures across digital channels.
- Customer Experience: Improve the online customer journey from product discovery and checkout through delivery and aftersales support.
- Merchandising Coordination: Work with buying and merchandising teams to manage product launches, seasonal ranges, stock priorities and promotional activity.
- Digital Marketing Collaboration: Coordinate with paid media, email, search, social and content teams to support customer acquisition and campaign performance.
- Marketplace Management: Oversee trading activity across approved online marketplaces and third party retail platforms.
- Website Optimisation: Use testing, analytics and customer feedback to improve conversion, usability and site performance.
- Technology Coordination: Work with developers and external technology partners to prioritise platform improvements, integrations and issue resolution.
- Stock and Fulfilment Alignment: Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure that online stock availability and delivery promises remain accurate.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering digital sales, customer behaviour, campaign performance and commercial opportunities.
- Budget Management: Monitor e commerce expenditure, platform costs and digital trading investment against approved budgets.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor e commerce specialists, trading executives and digital coordinators while maintaining clear performance expectations.
- Risk Management: Identify risks relating to website performance, data quality, stock availability and customer service and coordinate appropriate actions.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: At least 6 years of experience in e commerce, digital trading, online retail or marketplace operations, including management responsibility.
- Education: Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, E Commerce, Fashion Management or a related discipline.
- E Commerce Knowledge: Strong understanding of online trading, website merchandising, digital customer journeys and conversion optimisation.
- Commercial Awareness: Experience managing sales targets, pricing, margin, promotions and online channel performance.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret web analytics, trading reports, campaign results and customer behaviour data.
- Retail Experience: Experience in fashion, apparel, lifestyle products or another fast moving consumer retail category is desirable.
- Leadership: Ability to manage digital teams, set priorities and coordinate work across multiple business functions.
- Digital Marketing Awareness: Understanding of paid media, search, email marketing, social commerce and customer retention activity.
- Technology Skills: Experience using e commerce platforms, content management systems, analytics tools, customer relationship management systems and reporting software.
- Stakeholder Management: Confidence working with merchandising, marketing, technology, logistics and senior commercial stakeholders.
- Communication: Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to explain digital performance and commercial recommendations clearly.
- Organisation: Ability to manage campaigns, platform changes, trading deadlines and seasonal priorities in a fast paced environment.
Pay: £48,000.00-£62,000.00 per year
