Job Title - Quality and Business Improvement Engineer
Turbine Repair Technologies Ltd (TRT Ltd) are excited to be looking for a Quality and Business Improvement Engineer to join our Quality Team. We encourage a large range of applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels.
TRT Ltd is a joint venture between Rolls-Royce Plc and Chromalloy, focused on the repair of gas turbine blades and vanes for aerospace and energy applications. It has specialisms in various coatings required to protect components from extreme heat during operations in addition to some more conventional repair techniques. TRT is beginning to use more advanced technologies in its repair processes such as robotics, adaptive machining and laser deposition.
About You
We are looking for the right person to ensure that TRT maintains its certifications with regulatory bodies and internal quality systems. The successful person will organise and host internal and external audits and resolve quality issues using appropriate RCCA tools. Candidates should be expected to work with and support various departments throughout the business to drive quality standards forward.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Raising and conducting quality investigations determining root causes and implement appropriate corrective and preventative actions .
- Lead Internal and External Audits.
- Preparing for and hosting external audits and closure of any findings.
- Maintaining regulatory documentation and ensure submittal to the relevant authority for approval
- Interface with the regulatory authorities
- Reviewing latest regulatory and customer quality standards and ensure compliance.
- Develop and implement Safety Management System (SMS) activities.
- Conduct NADCAP pre audits
- Monitor and report KPIS’s to management
- Any other duties that may be required by the Company.
In addition, the successful candidate will be required to understand and work to TRT guidelines and observe all TRT policies.
Required Skills/Experience:
- High levels of self-motivation
- Fluent IT skills – Particularly Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Ability to identify and solve problems
- Good people skills
- Aerospace manufacturing
- NADCAP
- Lead auditor trained
- Root cause analysis tools ( e.g 8D)
- AS9100/9110
- SMS
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience of working in a highly regulated industry with demonstrated quality experience
- Experience with Gas Turbine Components (Blades and Vanes)
- Experience of working in a part 145 organisation
This will be an office based role and will require the successful candidate to interact with others throughout the office and factory areas.
This role will report to the Senior Quality Lead.
Key Information:
Salary: £35,000 - £47,000 (Dependent on Experience and Qualifications)
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 Hours pw
