Sales Representative (Northern Region)
About Us:
We are an innovative family-run company, based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire specialising in market-leading sensory, educational and play equipment across the UK to a wide range of different clients. We are well established and have been in business for over 20 years.
Our team is made up of committed and talented people, who also like a bit of fun. Due to growth we have an exciting new opportunity for an energetic, conscientious and motivated Sales Person to join our team.
It is the ideal environment in which to learn, increase your abilities and realise your full potential. You will be surrounded by an experienced team and an employer who wants you to achieve your goals.
The Role:
The main role is to visit customers and provide quotations, but due to the nature of the business, it is not necessarily a simple process. We find that many customers can take months if not years to finally order a system, some fundraising may be involved for them to be able to purchase. Also, due to the clients mainly being government-funded, they may have funding shortages but certainly will have red tape and hoops to jump through.
We specialise in designing systems to fulfil the needs of the client and we are not a company that just sells from a catalogue. Following your training you will be responsible for designing their system concept, provide the costing, writing the proposals and trying to close the deal.
You will need to use your common sense but also have a flair for design and the ability to visualise the finished system. This does make the job quite interesting and it is not uncommon for larger quotes to take two days, including the visit and quotation process.
Leads are provided via our website along with some repeat business and recommendations whilst also inheriting a good well worked existing customer base to get you started.
The role can be done through either being office based, or remotely/split for candidates living a distance from our offices in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. We are interested in finding the right fit for the role and are open to being flexible on this.
The Team & Environment:
You will be working as part of an experienced team with a “Can Do” attitude. Being a small company, you will get to have your voice heard and be a key member of our hardworking and professional team. We try to create a laid back and relaxed atmosphere whilst keeping the emphasis on providing a busy and fulfilling career. Our team like to be friendly and have fun, with plenty of laughs and sarcasm along the way.
The Hours:
37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (these times can vary due to the nature of the job).
