Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Co-Ordinator to organise and oversee engaging recreational programmes within a senior care environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or care homes, with a strong understanding of the activities which would give person centred care. This role involves creating meaningful activities that promote socialisation, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for residents.
Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including those with slight dementia and mobility needs.
- Coordinate social events, outings, and therapeutic activities that foster community engagement and personal fulfilment.
- Maintain detailed activity records and monitor residents’ participation and progress.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual needs and adapt activities accordingly.
- Lead activity sessions in a professional, caring manner, ensuring safety and inclusivity at all times.
- Foster an environment of enjoyment, encouragement, and respect among residents.
- Organise special events for holidays, birthdays, and other significant occasions to promote community spirit.
- Stay informed about best practices in senior care activities and incorporate innovative approaches into programmes.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home environments or similar senior care settings.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and care team members.
- Demonstrated organisational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Compassionate approach with the ability to motivate and inspire older adults through engaging activities.
- Ability to adapt programmes for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive function.

Pay: From £12.21 per hour
