Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis, supporting strategic planning, and assisting with budgeting processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise advanced analytical tools and contribute to organisational financial health. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a solid understanding of financial planning and analysis.

Duties

Analyse financial data using SQL, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI to identify trends and support decision-making processes.
Develop detailed financial models and forecasts to assist in strategic planning and budgeting activities.
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights for continuous improvement initiatives.
Support accounting functions by analysing financial statements and ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
Assist in the development of financial strategies aligned with organisational goals.
Maintain organised records of financial data, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of information.

Experience

Proven experience in a similar role as a Financial Analyst or in financial planning and analysis.
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
Experience with Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and visualisations.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint for presentation development.
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets accurately.
Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.
Organisational skills necessary to manage multiple projects efficiently within deadlines.
IT literacy with a good understanding of organisational systems supporting finance functions.
Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a closely related discipline — RQF Level 6 or above

Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
