Overview:

Class: Full-time AND Temporary

Legal Entity: StoneX Metals Limited

Report to: Production Manager

StoneX Metals is a precious metals processing company based in West Bromwich, acquired by StoneX Group in October 2024. StoneX Metals specialises in the recovery and recycling of precious metals, with expertise in extracting silver, gold, platinum and palladium from various materials including photographic, electronics and industrial waste. The integration of the two companies adds refining capabilities to the StoneX Global Metals business and creates opportunities for us to offer multiple products across the market.

Commercial: With boots on the ground authenticity at the heart of everything we do, our comprehensive array of commercial products and services enable you to work directly with our clients, across hedging, risk management, execution and clearing, OTC products, commodity finance and more.

Responsibilities:

Position Purpose:

The purpose of the role will be to support and assist the Shift Supervisor In the production of silver from waste products. To be able to multitask and carry out every aspect of the process from Incineration through to cupellation

Work closely with the Supervisor to ensure each shift runs smoothly
Support the continual Improvement for the business
Help deliver new Ideas and strategies to support growth
Work closely with the other site production teams
Help support the SHE Manager build a better H&S culture.

Primary duties include:

To train and become competent in all aspects of production (Blast Furnace, Cupel, Rotary)
Assisting In all aspects of production as required by the Supervisor
General housekeeping duties
Ensuring the most effective and efficient running of all relevant plant
Liaise with Supervisor and other Managers when required
To be a site First Aider
Ensuring environmental and permit standards are adhered to at all times
Report accidents & near misses
Ensure health & safety procedures are adhered to and correct RPE/PPE Is worn at all times
Be willing to be a H&S representative & site champion

Qualifications:

To land this role you will need:

Previous foundry experience would be advantageous
Some knowledge / experience of working with molten metal
Health, & Safety conscious and be willing to champion H&S on the shop floor
FLT Certificate advantageous
The ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative
The ability to ‘think on your feet’ and use of initiative
A “can do” attitude
Able to work in a fast-paced production led environment
Flexible and reliable
Willingness to train on multiple pieces of plant
