JOB DESCRIPTION – Child Care Assistant
The Child Care Assistant is responsible to the Manager and Assistant Manager
and Supervisor of their designated room.
Duties will include:
* Adhering to the Policies & Procedures of Cornabracken Child Care.
* Working as part of a team.
*The care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical,
emotional and intellectual needs.
*The planning and preparation of activities, to meet children's individual needs,
liaising with parents and negotiating working targets ensuring effective
communication within the setting.
* Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious
persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic
background.
* Keeping of development records and observations.
* Positive management of children's behavior.
* Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and
equipment.
* To develop the ethos and to create a welcoming and family friendly
environment.
* To be responsible at all times for high standards of care and education of the
children in line with statutory requirements
* Providing a good role model for Students and helping new staff to fit into the
nursery.
* To know and have a clear understanding of the minimum standards
guidelines set out by social services.
* Keeping and monitoring accident, incident, and medication and risk
assessment records.
* Supervision of meals and mealtimes.
* Attendance of staff meetings as arranged by the Nursery
Managers/Supervisor.
* Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Managers/
Supervisor.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £12.91 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 16.0 per week
