About the Role
As a Maintenance Officer, you will support the safe and effective operation of the Home through the delivery of maintenance, repair, environmental and safety support services.
You will help maintain safe, welcoming and well-presented environments while contributing to resident wellbeing, comfort and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Environment & Service Delivery
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Support safe, welcoming and well-maintained environments.
- Undertake routine inspections, repairs and environmental upkeep.
- Support resident comfort, safety and wellbeing through effective maintenance services.
Operational Support & Facilities Management
- Support building systems, equipment and environmental controls.
- Complete maintenance schedules, safety checks and inspections.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers where required.
- Support grounds and environmental upkeep activities.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with care, catering, housekeeping and management teams.
- Communicate professionally with residents, visitors and contractors.
- Escalate hazards, incidents and maintenance concerns appropriately.
- Support a positive and collaborative working environment.
Compliance & Safety
- Promote health and safety, fire safety and environmental compliance.
- Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
- Ensure safe use of tools, equipment and materials.
- Support continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

- Experienced within maintenance, facilities, environmental services or building support roles
- Practical, reliable and solution-focused
- Organised and committed to maintaining high standards
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team
- Professional and respectful when working within resident environments
- Committed to safety, compliance and resident wellbeing
Desirable Experience
- Experience within healthcare, care home or regulated environments
- Experience carrying out basic repairs, decorating or grounds maintenance activities
- Experience liaising with contractors, suppliers or maintenance providers
