An excellent opportunity has arisen with the growing educational consultancy, TSO Education, for an Finance Manager (Schools & Academies) to support the provision of high level finance support to schools, academies and trusts.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic person for this new role to help us continue to grow and strengthen the business. It is key that you are adaptable and with the ability to use your own initiative and be a proactive team player with the motivation to be successful.
There will be lots of opportunities to develop and grow your career and really make this opportunity your own, for example we will support the development of the right candidate to become a School Resource Management Adviser deployed by the DfE. As a growing business we want to recruit staff who will grow with us.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Working with the directors to provide high level support to schools and academies;
- Preparing monthly management accounts for trusts;
- Assisting with the preparation of annual accounts and supporting with the management of the external audit;
- Being the first point of contact for contracts and responding to queries via the helpdesk.
Experience
You will need to have substantial experience in finance, particularly in the preparation of management accounts including prepayments and accruals.
Ideally you would need to have at least two years experience of working in schools' finance.
Experience of academy finance would be particularly beneficial; as would a thorough understanding of academy accounting and awareness of the requirements of the Academy Trust Handbook.
Ideally the candidate will have experience of working with external auditors and preparing monthly management accounts.
Accountancy qualifications would be beneficial.
