Do you know the basics but want the opportunity to develop into a confident, independent engineer?
CFS Systems, is looking for Junior Fire & Security Engineers to join our team on a 6-month fixed0term contract. This role has been created specifically for engineers who are ready to bridge the gap between apprenticeship and becoming a fully independent engineer.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll gain valuable real-world experience across installation, servicing, maintenance and fault finding of Fire Alarms, CCTV, Intruder Alarms and Access Control systems.
As your confidence grows, you'll also have opportunities to lead smaller projects and service visits, helping you build the skills required to become a fully qualified Fire & Security Engineer.
For the right person, there may be opportunities for a permanent position at the end of the contract, subject to business needs and performance.

What you'll be doing
Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll:
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of Fire Alarm, CCTV, Intruder Alarm, Access Control and other systems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs).
- Develop fault-finding and diagnostic skills across multiple manufacturers.
- Complete digital job sheets, service reports and certification.
- Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with current standards.
- Build strong relationships with customers on site.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment.
- Attend manufacturer and industry training courses.
- Gradually take ownership of smaller installations and service visits.
- Gain opportunities to lead your own jobs under the guidance of experienced engineers, building the confidence and experience needed to become a fully independent engineer.
What we're looking for
Essential
- Successfully completed a recognised Level 3 Fire & Security apprenticeship (or equivalent qualification)
- OR around 1-2 years' experience within the Fire & Security industry
- Good communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong work ethic and pride in your work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
Experience Fire Alarms, CCTV, Intruder Alarms and Access Control
Industry qualifications such as ECS Card, IPAF, PASMA, Manufacturer certification
Full UK Driving Licence
