Microbyte is looking for someone who genuinely loves solving problems with code. Not someone who ticks boxes on a computer science checklist, but someone who gets a real kick out of taking a messy, manual process and turning it into something that just works. Someone who has been watching the AI wave with real excitement and wants to join.
This isn't a traditional developer role. We care less about where you learned to code than about what you can build. Whether your background is formal education or self-directed learning, what matters is that you build, you ship, and you care about the result. You'll be comfortable using modern AI tools to move quickly, but you take the time to understand what your code is actually doing. Most importantly, you believe technology should make people's working lives better. We build systems that empower the people who use them, not systems designed to replace them.
-
Are you the kind of person who sees a repetitive, manual process and itches to automate it properly?
- Do you find genuine satisfaction in watching something you built make someone's day easier?
- Have you been looking for a role where curiosity and output matter more than years of experience?
-
You'll work across a genuinely interesting mix: our client-facing AI platform, internal automations, and real integration projects for real businesses. You'll be joining as we expand our AI and development capability, with support to grow quickly, real influence over how it takes shape, and the freedom to bring your own ideas to the table.
At Microbyte, we pride ourselves on providing cutting-edge technologies with a fast-paced team of forward thinkers. If you see yourself being involved in an ever-growing MSP with friendly, collaborative offices in the UK, UAE and US, then this could be the role you're looking for.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and improve features on our client-facing AI platform, working across the stack
- Develop internal automations and AI-powered tooling that improve how our teams work
- Deliver client integration projects, connecting business systems, APIs and databases so data flows
- Use AI-assisted development tools confidently and responsibly, owning and understanding every line you ship
- Build with security in mind, ensuring the code you ship protects client data and stands up to scrutiny
- Spend time understanding the process behind each request, so what you build solves the real problem
- Write clear documentation and maintainable code that the next person can pick up without a translator
- Test, iterate and improve based on feedback from the people actually using your work
- Keep learning. The tools change monthly and we want someone who enjoys that
Required Experience / Skills
- Demonstrable ability to build working software, through work/personal projects.
- Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python etc. and a willingness to work in whatever the problem needs
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted dev with the judgement to know when to trust it and when to check it
- A genuine interest in cyber security and secure development practices
- A problem-solver's mindset, curious about how businesses work and how software can make them better
- A clear communicator, able to explain technical ideas to non-technical people
- Honest about what you know and what you don't, and quick to close the gap
Desirable
- Experience with React, Node.js, SQL, or building against REST APIs
- Exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms
- Experience in an MSP or IT services environment
